Organization Theory Modern - Symbolic And Postmodern

Question: Discuss about the Organization Theory for Modern, Symbolic and Postmodern. Answer: Introduction: The productivity of the organization is completely depends on interaction with its environment, drawing certain inputs from the environment and transforming these to outputs hat are offered to the environment. According to Scott and Davis (2015), managing organization is a collective action whose favorable environment works with several variables include employees, customers, suppliers and even the competition for do research, development and profit. Therefore, the accomplishment of its preferred state is dependent on the efficiency with which the firm carries out this process of production. However, conventional theories looked at firms as closed and isolated systems. According to Cummings and Worley (2014), conventional theory disregarded outside environmental influences before the 1960s, so much researcher and scholars began to embrace system of open business environment to introduce outside forces that influence management organizations include social/political changes, natural d isasters and so on. Thus, the open system model is all about interaction with its environment by exchanging material, energy and information with aims at renewal of the system and growth (Hatch and Cunliffe 2013). Discussion: I have gained a lot of experience by performing under the open systems management approach in the ABC limited. The company is engaged in retail environment. Being associated with such organization, I have understood that when an interaction with an environment do happen regularly while doing business operations and exchanges and processes feedback, then that approach will be called as Open System Management Approach. The best part about this model is that the controllers of open systems have pay attention to their external environment, in-house environment and needs of customers and reactions. Now I have a clear idea that there are several conditions and operations takes place to reach at similar results. Practicing under this approach, I am now become capable of functioning under the supposition that users can get the ultimate results by maintaining a direct relationship with cause and effect. In other words, a business does not have restrictions over environmental forces, it relies on assumption and contingencies to cope with unexpected input (Burke 2013). For instance, the natural disaster makes logistic problem in retail business operation, causing loss production and reduced profit. The Open System approach gives a clear idea about the entire institutional sectors, sets of firms, individual organizations, units or divisions within organizations (Miller and Rice 2013). The core system components which are used for managing ABC Ltd are firms behaviors and processes to prevail the patterns of interaction between groups and individual. By using technology indicates tools, equipments, methods and techniques for processing input and transform them into outputs. Another core component, environment is all about external organizations and conditions. Here it is indeed important to maintain strong relationships between individuals, groups and larger units. Therefore organizational structure is essential in the Open System model. Lastly, an open system dynamics helps in getting feedbacks of information and demands within outside organizations. By delivering activities under this approach, the OS model teaches us several significant factors helped to gain about several important ideas which are as follows: Firstly, the typical framework of OS can be used by different levels of analysis. Secondly, any identified organizational system may be treated as being composed of components of independent nature. Thirdly, if the interdependent components or functions are considered as poor fit then ineffectiveness may appear and organizational effectiveness bound to be suffered. Fourthly, there is a huge dependency on the organizations ability of adapt to its environment with the effectiveness of the organization. However, it is challenging to looking for a favorable environment in which to operate. Fifthly, ABC used many of their retail service, goods and ideas to deliver to their consumers as inputs to maintenance or growth Sixthly, we, being employees, are the most essential resources of the open management system approach. Seventhly, the OS model taught us that an effectiveness of ABC Ltd depend on sustainability on its ability to accomplish needs of the internal system. This includes people who are authorized to perform into the organization, conducting processes of transformation, and handling operational activities as well as the adaptation to its environment (Cummings and Worley 2014). Lastly, it is the core feature of the model that a constant development in and outside of the ABC has been generated a lot of pressure for changes as well as releasing forces for sustainability. Conclusion: Based on my experience I can conclude that Open system management approach promote effective problem solving by clarifying the broader perspective. By adopting this approach organizations will follow a confident delivery approach to manage organization and can deals with better understanding by potential leadership and effective management by getting continuous responses and feedbacks of the structure of the organization.
